Captain Monty Hawkins has over 40 years of fishing in Ocean City, MD and currently is the most experienced head boat Captain in the area.

Monty’s years of knowledge of both natural and artificial bottom substrates off the coast of Delmarva leaves you with peace of mind of not only the best fishing experience offered, but also the safest. Monty owns and operates the Morning Star every day the weather allows and targets mostly bottom species on his daily runs.

When time allows, he often decides to make special trips for more seasonal species which he announces via Facebook.

In addition to his experience as a captain, he also spends a lot of his time in improving the very reefs he fishes as the esteemed President of the Ocean City Reef Foundation. While the Morning Star is certainly very fishing focused, daily trips include also building reefs on the way to the fishing grounds!
